The thermal camera measures surface temperature. Marked spots are suspected leaks that the operator confirms on site. Very deep pipes, dense vegetation, buildings over the route, wet ground or snow limit the result. On above ground pipes with bare metal cladding, temperature values are only partly comparable because of reflections.
- At night with a radiometric thermal camera
- Suspected leaks with coordinates and priority
- Buried and above ground pipes
A leak in a district heating pipe costs heating water, energy and often several excavations before the right spot is found. QopterVision flies over your route at night with a radiometric thermal camera and RTK and shows where the surface above the pipe is noticeably warm. For large district heating networks as well as small local heating networks in municipalities. Available across Austria.
Buried and above ground
For buried pipes, leaks and insulation damage show up as clearly warmer local areas on the surface. Above ground pipes on pipe bridges, facades or supports are captured directly, showing insulation damage, thermal bridges and leaks at flanges, valves and expansion joints.
Basic, Complete or Emergency
- Basic: radiometric thermal orthophoto of the route as a GeoTIFF, with a temperature value for every pixel, ready to overlay on your network plan in GIS. You carry out the evaluation yourself.
- Complete: in addition, all anomalies as a point layer (KML or Shape) and a PDF report with thermal image, aerial image, coordinates, temperature difference and priority A, B or C. False sources such as manholes, vehicles or exhaust air are filtered out.
- Emergency: for a pressure drop or water loss at a single spot such as a junction or a section of up to about 300 m. Usually on site within 48 hours, depending on the weather, results within 24 hours.
Indicative prices, net
- Basic: 490 euros one time for planning and permit, then 290 euros per route kilometre
- Complete: 490 euros one time, then 390 euros per route kilometre
- Pilot section up to about 5 km as Complete: fixed price 2,400 euros
- Emergency: 890 euros flat, each additional spot in the same night 190 euros
All prices plus VAT. Travel and accommodation outside Styria at cost.
Your benefits
- Fewer trial excavations, because the suspected spot has a coordinate
- Whole route sections in one night instead of walking them metre by metre
- Radiometric data, ready to overlay on your network plan in GIS
- One contact person from planning to report
Applications
District heating networks · Local heating networks in municipalities · Industry and commerce · Above ground pipes on pipe bridges
How it works
- 01Provide the route, at least drawn in Google Maps, ideally as a DXF, KML or Shape file, together with the supply temperature
- 02Flight planning and permit
- 03Flight during the heating season, at night and on dry ground, about 5 to 10 km per night
- 04Evaluation and delivery within 48 to 72 hours
Suitable for
Network operators · Municipal utilities · Municipalities · Energy suppliers · Industrial sites
One night in the air, and you know where to look first.
