The thermal camera measures surface temperature and does not see inside the construction. A finding is a well founded indication that a specialist should confirm on site. Images are taken from outside only, interior images are not included. Ventilated facades, glass and metal surfaces can only be assessed to a limited extent from outside. Thermography does not replace an energy performance certificate or energy consulting and does not calculate heat loss or insulation values. In summer it is not meaningful.

Every house loses heat in winter. The question is where. Thermography from outside makes heat loss visible and shows where heat escapes through the roof, walls, windows and junctions. By drone we also capture roof surfaces and upper floors that can only be seen at an angle or not at all from the ground.
What the thermal image shows
- thermal bridges at roof edges, balcony slabs and floor supports
- leaking junctions at windows, doors and roller shutter boxes
- areas with missing, damaged or displaced insulation
- conspicuous spots on roof surfaces and roof windows
When we measure
A meaningful measurement needs a clear difference between inside and outside, as a guide about 15 K. This is the case from November to March. We fly early in the morning before sunrise, when the facade has had no sun for hours. In rain, fog, with a wet facade or strong wind we postpone, so the date is set at short notice according to the weather.
How to prepare your house
- heat all rooms evenly for at least 12 hours beforehand, without night setback
- keep windows and outside doors closed
- leave roller shutters open if possible so window junctions are visible
- tell us in advance about spots you already suspect
